Capital Region of Denmark Sexually Transmitted Diseases

Chlamydia and gonorrhea are prevalent sexually transmitted infections in Denmark. Chlamydia infection often exhibit no symptoms, but signs of infection can include discharge, burning during urination, and spotting. Similarly, gonorrhea can be asymptomatic, yet infected individuals might experience painful urination and increased discharge. Consistent use of condom is crucial to prevent the transmission of both chlamydia and gonorrhea. When there's suspicion of infection, testing is recommended, as untreated infection may reduce the ability to conceive.

Infection with chlamydia or gonorrhea is usually not an emergency and can wait until the next workday.

Effective medication can be prescribed by a doctor. Below, you'll find information on testing options for chlamydia and gonorrhea. Some places also offer testing for syphilis and HIV.
